Twowayaccessories requested our help to create a refreshed and modern fully responsive ecommerce website, catering for a sharp rise in mobile device users for online shopping.

Twowayaccessories are a part of Brabourne Ltd, one of the most experienced radio communications suppliers in the UK with a customer network spanning the globe. They needed an ecommerce system that would keep up to date and, along with the website, integrate smoothly into the payment system. The ability to group products more effectively using Purveya’s filters allows Twowayaccessories to remain competitive within their market sector, as do the new reports on sales. Updated SEO and code also ensures that the website is secure, easy to update and products appear higher in search engine rankings to push down the competition.

Twowayaccessories had clear goals and objectives for the new ecommerce website: attract new business, increase turnover, improve company image and increase basket value. All of these goals were dependent on appealing to the end user. Wire-framing each page of the website allowed for simplified and logical navigation, making it easier to find both products and services. Responsive design was also crucial to attracting new business due to a sharp increase in mobile device users, particularly for ecommerce. As an SEO friendly website, the search engine position was also enhanced to remain competitive in the market sector.

Design

With a sharp rise in mobile device users, particularly for ecommerce, the mobile design was just as important, if not more important than the desktop website. The final design, for all devices, needed to appeal to the end user as modern and refreshed but still be in keeping with the current branding.

Technology

The Twowayaccessories ecommerce website was set up on the Purveya platform. Purveya allows for continued growth as product ranges and customer bases expand, taking advantage of updates as this new system evolves in line with improvements in ecommerce. As parts of the old website were hardcoded, the new CMS allows full, easy control over products, website updates, promotions and vouchers by Twowayaccessories. Xero integration ensures that the ecommerce site is synced with their online accounts software. A bespoke accessories widget also allows end users to perform site-wide searches for accessories appropriate for specific radios.
